![]() This is a simple matter of taking the battery out of its slot and putting a new one (with similar specs) in its place. But if you don’t care, you can replace the battery yourself. It is worth noting that opening the battery backup will void the warranty. If the battery is clearly dead, replace it. Use a voltage reader to check the battery directly. According to Raw Info Pages, sometimes, replacing a damaged fuse is enough to fix a dead battery backup.ģ). Open the battery backup and look for the fuse. In some cases, this is enough to fix the battery backup.Ģ). Look for the button that allows you to reset the circuit breaker. If the backup has refused to work, you can take more direct measures, which include the following:ġ). If the backup starts working, the previous wall outlet was faulty. If your backup is connected to a reliable power source using a suitable cord, and it is still not working, you should turn your attention to the power source. You should contact the manufacturer for clarification. Sometimes, these specifications vary from country to country. ![]() If you bought a new power cord, ensure that it matches the specifications of the manufacturer. That means taking a moment to charge it to the recommended level, making sure the battery backup has been switched on, performing any relevant software updates, and inserting the power cord correctly. If your battery backup has stopped working, you have to start by making sure that you are using it properly. They believe that allowing a battery backup to go unused for several months at a time will reduce its capacity How Do You Fix A Battery Backup? Quality Power Solutions expects consumers to charge their battery backups every three months. These loose connections can compromise a backup’s functions. Loose Wiringīattery backups are just as susceptible to loose connections as any other electronic device. If it stops working, the backup will overheat. If the air filters are fine, check the fan. OverheatingĪ battery backup can overheat, not because the ambient temperature is too high but because the air filters are clogged. It will cause the battery to die before its time. Overcharging and undercharging is equally dangerous. Charging With High Voltageĭo not expose a battery to voltages that exceed the range the manufacturer recommended. The ambient temperature in a battery’s storage area should never exceed the temperature recommended by the manufacturer. Some people expose their backups to high temperatures without realizing that high temperatures can reduce the lifespan of the battery. That being said, certain factors can cause a battery backup to wear out at a faster rate., including: 1). Every device with a battery that is repeatedly charged and discharged will wear out. But what happens when your battery backups stop working? Reasons Behind Battery Backup Not WorkingĮvery battery backup will stop working eventually. Just to let you know, that UPS is only good for about 2-5 min backup.anything longer and it will shut down, which makes it about useless for anything other than giving you a second to shut your system down if you are right there, and to cut down on spikes or flicker outages causing issues.Battery backups are supposed to keep your devices going whenever the power from the grid becomes unstable and unreliable. If you are in a stable area, then most likely you can get by without it.just turn off for storms and such. If you have lots of outages and worse yet brownouts(that half lit when power is sorta still on but not really) then you really need to have an UPS to prevent all sorts of issues. So it depends on the condition of your power grid for your home. But then again, the power grid in my area is fairly stable, and the outages and brownouts are few and far between. That is a fairly low end battery backup, that isn't really designed to have a whole bunch of power being pulled through it.Īs far as how it will do being plugged directly into the wall, well mine is that way now, I used to have UPS but the good ones are expensive and I don't have the spare cash to replace so yeah it will work. ![]() It is best to wait to fertilize newly planted Japanese maples until their second growing season. Low-nitrogen fertilizer is fine in spring (N-15 or lower), but don’t apply after May, as this could impede fall color & winter toughness. Keep mulch several inches away from the trunk. Maples like mulch to protect their roots from heat and cold, as well as reduce the frequency of watering, especially for those in containers. Although they can endure periodic dry spells once established, you will want to avoid moisture extremes and water regularly during extreme drought. Water them well at planting time and regularly thereafter. The compact form of this dwarf variety and its unique arrangement of leaves, which are layered like roof shingles, make Acer palmatum ‘Mikawa Yatsubusa’ an excellent choice for growing in a pot and a top pick of bonsai enthusiasts. When planting in a container, it is still wise to focus on small to medium varieties or dwarf forms. Japanese maples “self stunt,” meaning their top growth will decrease when their roots are confined. Many of the smaller varieties are excellent in containers. Chlorosis (yellowing of leaves due to lack of chlorophyll) may occur in high-pH soils. If you live in an area with heavy clay soil, planting them slightly elevated is beneficial this will help guard against root rot and disease. Japanese maples are fairly adaptive, but prefer moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soils that contain organic matter. Japanese maples prefer to be in locations protected from strong winds and spring frosts. Either way, make sure there is no threat of frost which can damage a newly planted tree. However, many gardeners also find success planting in the spring. When to plant:įall is an excellent time to plant because it allows the roots of your Japanese maple to get established while the rest of the tree is dormant. Compare the different types of Japanese maples here. Japanese maples offer plenty of diversity. ![]() If this isn’t an option, select a cultivar that has a reputation for being a faster-than-average grower, such as Acer palmatum ‘Beni-otake’. If you want an established look right from the start, you can opt to plant an older, larger maple rather than a young one that may take years to mature. Planting them in a spot where they are happy and caring for them well helps maximize their growth rate. They typically grow fastest when they are young and slow down as they reach maturity. Most Japanese maples grow at a slow to moderate rate of 1 to 2 feet per year. Foliage color:įamous for their phenomenal fall colors, Japanese maples also present purples, reds, yellows, oranges, and greens as well as variegation throughout the growing season. For best color, most maples need a location with part day's sun or at least high light. Too little light, and some of the more colorful varieties will take on a greenish tone - still attractive, but not the brilliant fall color of reds and purples as would be expected. Too much light can damage delicate leaves. Providing the right amount of light can be a balancing act. Varieties from 8 to 30 feet tall and wide. They typically leaf out early in the season and a late cold snap can cause serious damage even to mature specimens. Heat is a consideration, especially in the south, not necessarily for the health of the maple but for its effect on leaf color, causing many purple or red-leaved varieties to “go green” in the summer. ![]() This encourages the stems to become stronger so they’re able to hold more weight. The best location in your garden for growing ‘Autumn Joy’ will have full sun and good drainage. When your rooted cutting is ready to plant – or if you have a potted start from a friend or a nursery – the steps are straightforward. Ohba and his team studying the Sedum genus proposed to reclassify several species. There was some speculation, but it appears to be a hybrid cross between two sedums – S. ![]() The cultivar made its way to North America sometime in the late 1950s. The plant had accumulated a few different common or regional names during its infancy, including ‘Indian Chief,’ but the German name ‘Herbstfreude,’ which translates to ‘Autumn Joy,’ seemed to stick. Georg Arends, a German nurseryman, raised this cultivar and introduced it in 1955. And ‘Autumn Joy’ is a well known “poster child” cultivar. Hundreds of varieties, cultivars, and hybrids of sedum belong to the large family Crassulaceae, the stonecrops. Sedum is native to Europe and Asia, and the word “sedum” is derived from the Latin word “sedere,” which means “to sit,” – a sensible name for this genus with a growth habit of clinging to the ground or other rocky surfaces. In 1753, Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus assigned the scientific name Sedum in his renowned botanical publication called “Species Plantarum.” She’s well aware the world of difference between her and Ayase in experiance and expectations. Ayase and Hinana’s relationship develops naturally. ![]() It was certainly intentionally in production, but in execution is felt totally natural that things don’t really pick up until the very end. There was a bit of skirting around the issue though. However, it’s actually addressed in a factual manner within the story without being forced either. I had that awkward feeling in my stomach of ‘wow, this film is really well directed and written but this age-gap is incredibly off-putting no matter how you spin it’. There was an age gap, and it’s brought up fairly early on. I won’t lie, I daydreamed a bit as I drove home, if I would ever find someone like that to sweep me off my feet.Īll the romantic flair of this romance was saddled in a fair amount of reality. I gotta say, I was pretty damn blown away from how this film handled it’s plot. However, this prince isn’t as picture perfect as expected, but that doesn’t stop a romance from flourishing. This is where she truly has her chance encounter with a real prince, Ayase Kaede (Katayose Ryota). Due to her position as a student council member, she is asked with the other members to be extras when a movie is being filmed at her school. Should you be looking for a business-grade dictation application, your best bet is Dragon Professional. Nuance Communications offers a 7-day free trial to give the app a try before you commit to a subscription. The other caveats are the need for an internet connection for the app to work (due to its cloud-powered nature), and the fact that it’s a subscription offering with no one-off purchase option, which might not be to everyone’s tastes.Įven bearing in mind these limitations, though, it’s a definite boon to have fully-fledged, powerful voice recognition of the same sterling quality as the desktop software, nestling on your phone or tablet for when you’re away from the office. This isn’t as flexible as the desktop application, however, as dictation is limited to within Dragon Anywhere – you can’t dictate directly in another app (although you can copy over text from the Dragon Anywhere dictation pad to a third-party app). Furthermore, you can share documents across devices via Evernote or cloud services (such as Dropbox). It also boasts support for boilerplate chunks of text which can be set up and inserted into a document with a simple command, and these, along with custom vocabularies, are synced across the mobile app and desktop Dragon software. However, note that the app was still responsive enough overall. So essentially you get the same excellent speech recognition as seen on the desktop software – the only meaningful difference we noticed was a very slight delay in our spoken words appearing on the screen (doubtless due to processing in the cloud). Dragon Anywhere is the Nuance mobile product for Android and iOS devices, however this is no ‘lite’ app, but rather offers fully-formed dictation capabilities powered via the cloud. ![]() For more information on how to locate offline newspapers, see our article on Locating Offline Newspapers.Ĭolumbus Grove: Putnam County Vidette. 22, 1854) Chronicling AmericaĪccording to the US Newspaper Directory, the following newspapers were printed in this county, so there may be paper or microfilm copies available.
